Meeting Rooms by Officely in Slack helps your team find and book available rooms from Slack.
For Slack workspaces using Google Calendar room resources, Officely can use room availability to help employees find and book rooms.
This article answers the most common questions about Google Calendar room setup and availability in Slack.
Does Meeting Rooms in Slack work with Google Calendar?
For Slack, Officelyโs Find a Room feature works with Google Calendar room resources.
Once your Google meeting rooms are set up as resources in Google Workspace, Officely can use that room availability to help employees find and book rooms.
Why are no rooms showing?
If no rooms appear, check that:
your rooms have been created as room resources in Google Workspace
the room calendars have been connected correctly
the user setting this up has the right admin permissions
the rooms are assigned to the correct office
the rooms are available for the date and time being searched
For Google Calendar, rooms should be set up as Google Workspace resources.
Why does room availability look different in Officely and Google Calendar?
Room availability depends on the connected calendar data.
If availability does not look right, check whether:
the room is set up as a Google room resource
the booking was made in the connected room calendar
the room is mapped to the correct Officely room
the booking has recently changed and needs a moment to update
the room is blocked out by another calendar event
Can employees book rooms from Slack?
Yes. Once rooms are set up, employees can use Officely in Slack to find and book available meeting rooms.
This helps employees book rooms without needing to leave Slack to search through calendar resources manually.
Who needs to set this up?
A Google Workspace admin may be needed to create and manage room resources.
An Officely admin should also make sure the rooms are connected to the right office and available to the right employees.
